why we do what we do
A Letter From the Founder
I was 5 years old when I first met someone with a disability. There was an autistic boy in my kindergarten class, and we immediately became best friends. Every year after that I had a new friend who looked or acted just a little bit differently than me. In middle school, I got involved with a few local organizations, and spent multiple days a week volunteering with individuals with Down syndrome. I met some of my closest friends who have taught me so much about uninhibited joy and never ending kindness, and has changed my life for the better. I’ve always known that I want to adopt a child with Down syndrome when I am older, but after learning about the thousands of children with Down syndrome who are abandoned and living in orphanages, I knew that I had to speak out now. I founded The Trium Tribe at 15 years old to provide support for families who have adopted a child with Down syndrome. My faith is at the center of what I do, and I pray that you see Jesus through my organization. It truly is my passion project, and I am so glad that you have joined me!
